Culture
- To the Nez Perce tribe, music is like prayers. Music is an activity that happens morning to night. They would put the music with dances, and do them together or alone. Their songs have meanings to them like songs to Mother Nature. Besides singing and dancing, the tribe fishes, hunts, and gathers food to eat in the winter. Nez Perce women made beads, clothing, and pottery. They traded with other tribes around them for food, or other supplies that were needed.

- Their reilgion was based on the earth and nature. Everyone had a personal link to a guardian spirit, or wyakin. A waykin is a guardian spirit that keeps a person alive to them. The people will even pray or sing to them when there's a war going to happen to protect them from dying.
- The tribe's diet is whatevr they could find out where they lived. The main meat that they usually ate was deer. After that, they used the fur on the deer for clothing for the winter.
- The clothes that they wore were made out a animal skins and beads. For when the people of Nez Perce danced and sang on days that were important, they would were beautiful clothing. The clothing had beads and bright colors on them.
Housing Style
- The people of Nez Perce lived tepees. They were covered with animal skins and grassmats. These homes were made for the cold winters, but were also cool for summer. The dwellings were also made that they could have many families live in the house.

The Nez Perce tribe lives in Nez Perce County in North Central Idaho. When the whites came to the Nez Perce, but they stayed in thier normal area like Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. The tribe is just in that one county of Idaho. They do things just like we do and blend in. The tribe still believe in their gods, and they still do thier pow wows.
